چکیده
Abstract Ambient forcing is a novel method to sample random states from manifolds of differential-algebraic equations (DAE). These can represent local perturbations nodes in power systems with loads, which introduces constraints into the system. must be valid initial conditions DAE, meaning that they fulfill algebraic equations. Additionally, these should individual variables grid, such as perturbation voltage at load. enable calculation probabilistic stability measures was not yet possible, but important have become crucial tool studying systems. Gaussian sampling by local perturbations
We present a technique for exact simulation of Gaussian Markov random fields (GMRFs), which can be interpreted as locally injecting noise to each Gaussian factor independently, followed by computing the mean/mode of the perturbed GMRF. Coupled with standard iterative techniques for the solution of symmetric positive definite systems, this yields a very efficient sampling algorithm with essentia...
متن کاملLocal reconstruction for sampling in shift-invariant spaces
The local reconstruction from samples is one of most desirable properties for many applications in signal processing, but it has not been given as much attention. In this paper, we will consider the local reconstruction problem for signals in a shiftinvariant space. In particular, we consider finding sampling sets X such that signals in a shift-invariant space can be locally reconstructed from ...
متن کاملNavigation in Ambient Spaces
More and more spaces and environments are now sensitive and responsive to the presence of their users and not longer in a research prototype stage. In my talk I will highlight several interaction challenges that arise for the users in these novel and complex so-called “smart” environments. In particular, I will focus on how people can be guided through these spaces with the help of novel interf...
متن کاملAmbient Learning Spaces
This chapter addresses bodyand space-related learning of children and adolescents, supported by a wide range of media platforms. These media constitute ambient learning spaces, in which learners use a variety of annotatable multimedia objects (e.g. image, video, sound, 3D models). These multimedia objects can be used for e.g. mobile learning and for learning with tangible interfaces in differen...
متن کاملFunctions in Sampling Spaces
Sampling theory in spaces other than the space of band-limited functions has recently received considerable attention. This is in part because the band-limitedness assumption is not very realistic in many applications. In addition, band-limited functions have very slow decay which translates in poor reconstruction. In this article we study the sampling problem in general shift invariant spaces....
